Environmentally Sustainable Glamping

in Norfolk

We are passionate about reducing our impact on the environment and we have made every attempt to incorporate these values into Round the Woods. We aim to provide you with a guilt-free, relaxing, eco glamping holiday without compromising on luxury and comfort.

We reward guests who travel by bicycle, on foot, or use public transport with a 10% discount - pop us over a message for your discount code.

We have an Environmental Policy Statement that details our environmental aims, and were awarded a Gold Award from Green Tourism upon opening.

Luxury Hobbit House powered by solar electricity

Energy

Electricity - 5KW solar array powers the shower building, all lighting in the accommodation is powered by the sun.

Heating - woodburners fueled by logs from our woodland.

Sedum Roof of the hobbit house blends in with the landscape for low impact glamping

Low Impact

Our structures are built without concrete poured in the ground, meaning they will leave no trace if they ever leave the site.

We manage the site in connection with nature and to benefit wildlife.

All our cleaning products are eco-friendly & biodegradable.

Hobbit House handcrafted from natural materials, including a reciprocal roof

Natural Materials

Natural materials feature heavily at Round the Woods, from the ash framed yurts on wooden decks to Willow Roundhouse, handcrafted from roundwood larch, straw, clay, sheeps wool, lime and timber.

Waste

We recycle as much as possible, making it easy for our guests to do the same. Our binbags are biodegradable. Food waste is composted for the vegetable garden and the compost toilet waste nourishes the fruit trees after 2 years of biodegrading.

Reuse

We give a new home to anything we can, including the shower building that was once a shipping container, furniture in the yurts and windows in the roundhouse.

Water

Water is pumped fresh from the ground in a borehole and is filtered for drinking. Our water is naturally cleaned and returns to the land.

The compost toilets don’t use any water.

Kate and Seb have thought of everything to make the yurt comfortable and beautiful. Who knew that a holiday could be both green and luxurious!
