Here is a selection of Christmas events that can help you to enjoy a break from Christmas shopping and a full diary of parties and instead focus on the magic of this time of year, with lights, sculptures and performances.

Tunnel of Lights

Launched in 2016, when it was the UK's first tunnel of light, this ever-changing immersive experience is comprised of 50,000 LEDs. The awe-inspiring 45-metre-long tunnel is situated on Hay Hill opposite The Forum and very close to Norwich market, free to enjoy and is the ideal place for seasonal selfies. Tunnel of Light

Norwich Castle Projections

A free experience of light projected onto the walls of Norwich Castle can be see from many places across the city. We enjoy watching this from outside the Town Hall, just above the market. Norwich Castle Projections

Thursford Enchanted Journey of Light

Enjoy a visit to Santa’s Magical Journey with penguins and polar bears, elves working busily preparing for Christmas and a snowman family. Continue your journey outside at the Lantern Light Extravaganza, with beautiful, luminous sculptures. To enhance your experience book a go on a vintage fairground and enjoy hot food and a bar.

Blickling Hall Garden of Lights

Enjoy the magical atmosphere of Christmas at Blickling. With the magically lit walled garden, their garden of lights and lit acorns on the Parterre. The cafe will be open serving warming mulled wine and minces pie.

Luminate at Sandringham

Enjoy marshmallows at Luminate, Sandringham

As darkness descends, join an enchanting journey and weave through a captivating light trail through the Royal Parkland at Sandringham. Immerse yourself in our mesmerising mile long trail, with stunning lighting elements and fabulous light play, all set to ambient music.

Holkham Hall by Candlelight

Hundreds of candles will be lit and ready to help you celebrate Christmas at Holkham Hall. A truly magical time, perfect for friends and family to enjoy the magnificent state rooms in all their festive finery, plus a glass of fizz and a mince pie too.

Thursford Christmas Spectacular

A Norfolk tradition, with visitors travelling across the country to experience this impressive variety performance. Set in the magical surroundings of mechanical organs and fairground carousels, with a cast of 130 professional singers, dancers and musicians. The three hour performance delivers an extravaganza of non-stop singing, dancing, music, humour and variety. It’s a fast moving celebration of the festive season featuring an eclectic mix of both seasonal and year-round favourites, with famous and much-loved chart toppers being performed alongside traditional carols. The finale is a fly over of white doves across the auditorium.

Santa Specials at North Norfolk Railway

Make your family’s Christmas extra special this year with a festive trip on a full-size steam train journey to meet Father Christmas. Alight at Sheringham and travel to Holt before heading back to the charming Edwardian Station at Weybourne, where you will make your way through an enchanted Christmas Tree Kingdom before meeting Santa and receiving a special gift.

A Festive Cabin at Round the Woods

Willow Roundhouse, our unique cabin, will be festively decorated this December, creating the perfect escape to enjoy relaxing by the fire with a glass of mulled wine and mince pies.
